The sixth annual Pouring Over Books meet-the-author and wine tasting was held in February, 2017. President John Hoag reports that everything was up, attendance, silent auction items and participation, and sponsorships. Net income of over $9,000 was more than double the previous year. Plans are already under way for next year’s event which, of course, we hope will be even larger and more profitable than ever. Tickets will go on sale toward the end of the year, and sponsorship opportunities are already available. If you are interested in reserving you sponsorship now, please click here. If you are a continuing sponsor, you will automatically be updated as details become available. If you would like to be placed on our sponsor email list, please go to the Contact Us page to let us know of your interest. All of our sponsors of the 2017 event may be seen on our Sponsors page.
Best-selling author, Susan Wittig Albert, honored us with her presence at the 2017 edition of Pouring Over Books. A long time Hill Country resident, she has authored many works, including her long-standing China Bayles mystery series, and two recent nonfiction works, Loving Eleanor and The General’s Women, available in bookstores now. The Friends appreciate that she went out of her way to spend time with us; her comments were timely and captivating. She can be found on the internet at All About Thyme and at Susan Albert. She donated the proceeds from her book signing sales to one of her own favorite projects, the Story Circle Network.
Substantially all of the images displayed in our Pouring Over Books gallery are the work of Doug Gephardt, a member of PODS, the Photographers of Dripping Springs. Thank you, Doug, for donating your time, energy and considerable talent.
