The three happy winners are shown with their respective baskets. The winning numbers were picked out of the hat by Harper Price, daughter of board member Chloe Price, witnessed by a group of enthusiastic board members. Congratulations to our three winners and a big “Thank You” to everyone who purchased raffle tickets. The proceeds will go toward support of the libraries many programs.
Wine Divas set for wine selection event
Friends President, John Hoag, announced plans for the Wine Divas annual tasting event. The Wine Divas (pictured below at the 2017 gathering), each contribute a $300 sponsorship annually to assume the awesome responsibility of picking the wines which will be presented at Pouring Over Books. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018, 5 – 7:30pm, at the home of Betty and Marshall Kuykendall. Panelists announced for Pouring Over Books
Adopting a revised format for its annual fundraiser, Pouring Over Books, meet-the-author and wine tasting, the Friends introduced the panel of local authors who will participate in the seventh annual edition of Pouring Over Books. Moderated by John Pacheco, Editor of the Dripping Springs Century News, the panel will include
- Olga Campos Benz (It’s News to Me), former KVUE News anchor.
- Nathan Brown (Arse Poetica), Oklahoma Poet Laureate, 2014.
- Kevin Cokley, Ph.D. (The Myth of Black Anti-intellectualism), University of Texas Professor and Director of the Institute for Urban Policy Research and Analysis (IUPRA),
- Emily J. Hooks (The Power of Forgiveness), founder of Forgiveness Academy.
