Vice President

Peter brings a new presence and fresh ideas to the mix as our Vice President. His long career in the nonprofit field provides insight and stability.  He also heads our Nominations Committee, so if you or someone you can recommend is interested in volunteering, he’s your man.

Kay Lynn’s extensive experience in the health care field brings a solid understanding of both the business and humanitarian side of every equation.

Treasurer

Bill is a retired electrical engineer.  He has an MBA and degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering.  He has been directly responsible for budgetary management of $10 million projects.  Though our humble budget is not quite at that level yet, Bill is eminently qualified to handle our needs well into the future, and his business background brings an important focus to our deliberations.

Karen came to the Friends with many years of experience in the graphic arts field with the University of Texas Press.  She has brought her professional acumen to bear on almost every activity in which the Friends have been involved.  Since February, 2012, her many volunteer positions have ranged from Historian to Vice President, and she just keeps on giving.

Teresa’s background and interests are in multi-lingual communication and cultural diversity.  She also possesses remarkable social media technical skills which have propelled the Friends headlong into new areas of engagement.

Laurie O'Donnell

Laurie has deep roots in the St. Louis area where she earned her Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Laurie retired and moved to Dripping Springs after a successful career with the Dickinson Independent School District – south of Houston.  She served as an  Elementary Principal and also has wide experience with the testing and accountability requirements of the district.
Dominique Couto-Levens

Dominique has been integrally involved in numerous projects dating back to 2012, including a key role in the staging of our major fundraising activity, Pouring Over Books.  Due to a debilitating injury, she has been quietly recuperating on the side-lines, but we are all pulling for her full recovery and return to “active duty.”

Marcia Atilano

Library Director

Marcia is integral to the close working relationship between the Friends and the Library.  She provides insight as to where the Friends can most effectively provide much-needed resources to further the library’s varied programs, often identifying exciting emerging opportunities not anticipated by the Library’s normal budget cycle.  She is a valuable resource to the Board and a welcome participant in our ongoing deliberations.
